Agility Images Prints and Files FAQs

How are images handled?

All images are adjusted individually to obtain prints and digital files. Images are rotated to level reference horizontal or vertical elements when aesthetically appropriate. Importantly, specific elements of the image are selected as appropriate for adjustments. Among the element properties optimized are tonal range, sharpness, digital noise, and color balance. Selective cropping is applied to prints and small digital files; large digital files are generally not cropped. If you have a specific cropping request, please email me and/or write it in the special instructions when finalizing the order. If, prior to prior to placing an order, you are not sure about the quality of an image or whether it could be cropped or adjusted as you wish , please contact me first and I will check the full-size file for you.

How are prints produced?

Prints are produced with archival Epson UltraChrome K3 pigment inks using an Epson large format professional printer on Epson Premium Photo Glossy Paper. This combination produces exceptional quality and longevity. Other paper options may be available on request.

What are screensaver files?

Agility Images' screensaver files are typically 1024 pixels in the long dimension and 768 pixels in the wide dimension, providing an excellent image for display at full size on computer monitors and for web use (with appropriate photo credit as described below in "How can I use images?"). Typical files are 100 kb in size and are shipped on a CD.

What are small digital files?

Agility Images' small digital files are 8-bit jpg files whose quality exceeds most consumer-level camera large digital files. They are typically 2400 pixels in the long dimension and 1600 pixels in the wide dimension. A very reasonable 8"x10" print can be obtained from such a file. The jpg files are typically 1.7 megabytes - 2.4 megabytes in size and are shipped on a CD.

What are large digital files?

Agility Images' large digital files are tif files derived from either the 16-bit RAW image or the minimally compressed 8-bit JPG image obtained by the camera. They are generally 3504 pixels x 2336 pixels and represent the highest quality images obtainable from the camera's digital sensor. Macintosh and PC computers interpret tif files slightly differently and thus two options are offered. A 16- bit tif file is typically 45 megabytes in size; an 8-bit tif file is half that size. If you are familiar with image processing workflow and have specific requests please let me know. A jpg file (typically 3-4 megabytes in size) is also included. Files are shipped on a CD.

How can I use images?

All images are copyrighted by Agility Images. I have a liberal copyright use policy. If you are using the image primarily so that the world can enjoy it (e.g., by putting an image on the web on your site, a breeder's site, or a dog sports or rescue site, or submitting an image to a calendar or to a magazine for a non-profit purpose), then please simply request permission and please credit the image; such requests have never been denied. If you wish to use the image for commercial purposes (e.g., to resell the image or to promote a product), please contact me so that we can determine a fair-use agreement.

How and when are orders shipped?

Orders are often but not always completed within two weeks; please contact me immediately if you feel concerned about the status of your order. Orders are shipped via first-class US mail in sturdy photo mailers.

How is satisfaction guaranteed?

If you do not like the image or are dissatisfied for other reasons, or if you order the wrong image, I will re-do it, replace it with another image, or refund your money.
